Configuring Administrator Settings

Return to Introduction  Previous page  Next page

This section covers security settings and administrator credentials of LiteCommerce ASPE system defined in the 'Settings' tab of the Control Center (Figure 19). This tab contains several groups of settings, each listed under its individual subtitle.

General settings

The 'General settings' subtitle in the 'Settings' tab currently contains only one section – 'Security'. It allows you to specify whether you want to use HTTPS to access LiteCommerce ASPE Control Panel. Place a checkmark against the 'Access Control Center via HTTPS' field and click on the 'Update' button to save this parameter and switch to HTTPS right away. To disable HTTPS, remove the checkmark and click on 'Update' again.

Review and change LiteCommerce ASPE administrator credentials here. Click on the 'Change' button for changes to take effect.

MySQL Root Credentials

MySQL root credentials are required for several key LiteCommerce ASPE operations, like creating new stores or changing LiteCommerce ASPE administrator settings stored in the database. You can choose to type in MySQL root credentials every time they are needed, or specify MySQL root login and password in the 'MySQL root credentials' subsection and save MySQL root credentials in LiteCommerce ASPE database. This data can be modified or removed from the database at any time.

In order to save MySQL root credentials, type in MySQL root login and password in the corresponding fields and click on the 'Save' button.

Once the credentials are saved, this subsection starts to look different (Figure 20): the 'Save' button is replaced with the 'Update' button (which you will use if you modify MySQL root credentials and want to update them in the database) and the 'Remove password from DB' button is added. You can click on the 'Remove password from DB' button at any time to remove MySQL root credentials from the database.

MySQL Credentials of LiteCommerce ASPE Administrator

LiteCommerce ASPE administrator has a separate MySQL account and this subsection allows you to review this account information. While MySQL account name cannot be changed, you can change the password by typing it in the 'Password' field, repeating it again in the 'Confirm password' field and clicking on the 'Change' button. Please note that changing the password requires root access to MySQL. If you have saved MySQL root credentials in LiteCommerce ASPE database, you do not need to type them in again. Otherwise, you need to fill in the corresponding 'MySQL root login' and 'MySQL root password' fields before you can proceed with password change.
