Access policies define sets of permissions and restrictions to be applied to client stores administrators. You can define as many access policies as needed using the 'Access policy' tab in LiteCommerce Control Panel (Figure 21).

Figure 21: Managing store access policies

Two predefined policies exist in your LiteCommerce ASPE system, namely:

'advanced' policy, which grants a client store administrator permissions on all available components, and
'web based' policy which grants permissions on all components except for HTML design import.

In order to create a new access policy, specify the new policy's name under the 'Add new access policy' subtitle and click on the 'Add' button. The newly created policy grants all the available permissions by default.

In order to review the policy and change the policy rules, under the 'Modify access policy' subtitle choose the name of access policy you want to modify from a drop-down list. Its rules will be displayed automatically. Change the rules according to you requirements by placing checkmarks against functionality components you want to enable in the policy and removing checkmarks against the components that should be disabled. The following permissions can be set or revoked:

Import HTML design: this component enables 'Import HTML design' functionality in Administrator Zone. The functionality is used to export LiteCommerce skins as a set of HTML pages to the administrator's local computer in order to edit them in any HTML editor (WYSIWYG or not) and later export them back. You might want to disable this functionality if your client stores are supposed to have common design and are not subject to design modifications.
Web based Advanced Template editor: enables editing advanced templates using LiteCommerce 'Template Editor'.
Backup/Restore database: enables client store administrators to use 'Database backup/restore' functionality of LiteCommerce to create backups of store database which includes stock, user and order details and other pertinent information.
Backup/Restore shop files: enables client store administrators to perform backups of the shop files using LiteCommerce Control Panel utility.
CSS editor: enables editing client store styles using LiteCommerce CSS Editor. You might want to disable this functionality if your client stores are supposed to have common design and are not subject to design modifications.
Image editor: enables editing key graphic files of client stores using LiteCommerce Image Editor. You might want to disable this functionality if your client stores are supposed to have common design and are not subject to design modifications.
Batch users import: enables importing the list of store users from a CSV file.
Batch product processing: enables importing products of the store catalog from a CSV file and exporting products into a file.
Storing images on a file system: permits to store product images as files on the file system.
Storing images in a database: permits to store product images in the store database. Storing big amounts of product images in the database can increase database response time. If both this component and the previous component are disabled, no product images can be added to the catalog.
Note:For further details on the above mentioned functionality components of LiteCommerce online stores please see corresponding sections of LiteCommerce reference manual and LiteCommerce Control Panel reference manual.

When you have finished defining the policy, click in the 'Update' button to save the changes.

Note that when you select an access policy from the drop-down list, you can also see the list of client shops associated with it under the 'Shops that use this access policy' subtitle below the policy definition.

In order to delete a policy, under the 'Modify access policy' subtitle choose its name in the 'Name' field and make sure that there are no shops associated with the policy (if the policy is being used, you cannot delete such a policy). Click on the 'Delete' button.
